Brief Bio

I live in West Virginia with my wife, daughters, and a sometimes-crabby but mostly loving rescue dog named Tramp. Growing up in the Green Mountains of Vermont and the Rockies of Colorado planted in me a love of nature. As a first-generation college student, I ultimately found myself with a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Nebraska.

I enjoy fiction that elicits emotion and ends on an uplifting note. Thus, I write small town family and friendship fiction. My first novel, The Call of the Sparrow, explores the triumph of the human spirit following personal tragedy.

When I am not professing at the university or writing, I will be found either with my family, traipsing in the outdoors, throwing darts poorly, climbing vertical walls, or traveling. My best inspiration is found in the comfort of the forests.
